The S. Goldman Lectures in Mathematical Physics at UCF were launched in Spring 2008 with the kind support of Steve Goldman.

UCF is a dynamic university that is experiencing a fast growth and it is becoming a recognized major research institution. UCF has already a very strong presence in the majority of scientific disciplines. However, mathematical physics is still an underdeveloped area. S. Goldman's vision and goal is to help UCF establish itself as a leading institution in mathematical physics as well. The creation of the lectures in mathematical physics is the first step in this direction.

The public lectures and/or colloquia of the series are given by leaders in the area of mathematical physics who have made seminal contributions to the field. The majority of the speakers are widely known to the public through their extraordinary public talks, sensational public books, appearances in national and international documentaries and many other activities.

All talks are open to the public and free. Book signing events follow many of the talks.
